Placement Cell Activities

1) Introduction: -

Placement is an important activity of any business school. Although the main purpose of a business school is to provide knowledge, skills, and the attitude that should be possessed to become a successful manager, the need for a good placement cannot be overlooked. Therefore, it is imperative to assist students in securing a good placement in the corporate world.


2) Objective of the placement cell is as follows -

Following are the objectives of the Placement Cell:
1. To expose students to the industrial environment, which cannot be stimulated in the classroom and hence creating competent professionals for the industry.
2. To Provide possible opportunities to learn, understand and sharpen the real-time technical/managerial skills required at the job.
3. To develop a platform for regular interaction, networking, mentoring, and training from industry professionals.
4. To provide maximum placement opportunities for final and summer placements.
5. To bridge the industry-academia gaps.
6. To expand the mutual collaboration between professional bodies, and different B -Schools, etc.
7. To create a conducive environment of learning with practical exposure.


3) Placement Policy:

The placement cell of Institute has a well-defined placement policy. The placement cell functions according to the guidelines of Institute placement policy. The placement policy is documented and prepare in consultation with director, course co-ordinator and placement committee members.


4) Purpose of Placement Cell:

The purpose of Institute's placement policy is to define the overall structure & processes of the placement cell, and to structure the roles & responsibilities of the teams working on this process of placement cell. The placement policy will ensure that: -

  • Maximum number of students get on-campus placement.
  • Deserving candidates can have the opportunity to start their career with their preferred company.
  • To maintain the quality standards of the jobs offered.
  • To ensure that the whole team work according to the defined processes.
  • To Develop a strategy to establish a strong linkage with corporate and develop a positive image of the institution.
  • To Connect alumni of the institute for institute growth and development.
  • To Help students to develop their personality and assist them for their career development.

5) Activities of Placement Cell:


The brief highlight of each activity of placement cell is as follows: -

Students Development Activities

  • The systematic efforts/ strategy to connect students with corporate.
  • Regular Interaction with students
  • Industry mentoring and Grooming
  • Opportunity for Networking & collaboration

Building Image

  • Participation in various B-School Survey Magazine to increase the visibility.
  • Writing articles on campus placements.
  • Collaborating with various national and international bodies.
  • Highlight the positive students' experiences on social media platform.

Industry- Interface Activities

  • Continuous interaction with mid to top level professionals and inviting them on campus.
  • Organisation of various industry events on varied theme based on industry trends

Collaboration

  • Identify the suitable professional bodies to enhance network and linkages
  • Collaborate to organise joint seminars, conferences
  • Work on Industry readiness skills development
  • Pool Campus Drive and interaction with placement officers of other campuses
  • Knowledge sharing session in another affiliated Institute.
